We get to know our patients and pair each with the counselor who is best suited to help them achieve their unique goals.

KRYSTYN BOURG

Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor

Krystyn is a provisional licensed professional counselor from Gretna, LA. Krystyn graduated from the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans with her Master of Arts in School Counseling. Much of her work has been focused around providing therapy services for children and adolescents. Krystyn’s passion for working with children flourished while working as a Registered Behavior Therapist for the past 4 years at a local center for children between the ages of 2-6 diagnosed with Autism and related disorders. She views counseling from a person-centered approach while utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to address each client’s unique goals. She has experience working with children, adolescents, teenagers and young adults. Krystyn has assisted clients in working through their anxiety, ADHD, ASD, anger management, behavioral issues and depression. In her free time Krystyn likes to watch Pelican’s basketball and relax at City Park.

MICHELLE CANEPA

Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor

Michelle is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor working primarily with individuals and couples at CORE's Chalmette office. Michelle completed her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Upper Iowa University.  Michelle is passionate about working with people from all walks of life and has experience helping clients with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, relationship struggles, and addiction. Michelle also has experience working with First Responders, military personnel, and trauma survivors.  Michelle’s approach is rooted in respect, empathy, and compassion, creating a safe environment that encourages your desired improvements and growth.  Michelle utilizes a person-centered approach however, recognizes that each client is unique and integrates various therapeutic techniques to better suit your individual goals.  When not in sessions, Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and children, cooking, baking, and entertaining family and friends.

TRACY FEREZAN

Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor

Tracy is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor under the supervision of Portia Gordon and a licensed addiction counselor in TX, WA, and MN. Tracy has worked in Intensive Outpatient Programs since 2018 specializing in suicidal crisis and addiction & recovery. Tracy uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, interpersonal Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to assist clients in reaching their personal goals. She has experience working with adolescents as young as 10, adults, and families. Tracy also has experience with trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. Tracy is an advocate, writer, and a researcher currently pursuing her PhD in Psychology.

GABRIELLE FISCHLER

Licensed Master Social Worker

Gabrielle is a Licensed Master Social Worker working with children, adolescents, couples, and families. Gabrielle supports individuals and their loved ones by guiding people toward their most secure selves and empowering individuals with the agency to move forward with autonomy and freedom. Gabrielle graduated with a Masters from the Tulane School of Social Work and is currently being certified as a Somatic Experiencing practitioner, enabling her to support individuals through their journey in trauma resolution. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in a person-centered, relational foundation, pulling on various interventions determined by each individual's unique needs. Gabrielle spends her time outside the therapy room as a performing musician and music educator.

CHRISTINA GILMORE

Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor

Christina holds a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Capella University and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from The University of New Orleans. She is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor with a mantra of “Listen, Learn, Understand, Teach”. Christina specializes in a range of therapeutic approaches, including play therapy and trauma focused therapy. Additionally, Christina has experience as an ABA technician at a clinic specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder, where she supported children in developing essential skills, as well as a trauma counselor for survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Christina is passionate about assisting clients from all walks of life on their journey to healing and overcoming life’s obstacles. When out of the office, Christina can be found in the kitchen with her partner preparing their favorite dishes, on the sofa watching Bluey, Mickey Mouse, or Baby Shark with her kiddos, or chasing behind her favorite four-legged golden-doodle, Milo!

Licensed Addiction Counselor

Nicole is a bilingual Licensed Addiction Counselor, Compulsive Gambling Counselor, and Music Therapist who primarily runs CORE and provides counseling services in English and Spanish. She holds a Master of Music Therapy and dual Bachelor's degrees in Music Therapy and Psychology from Loyola University New Orleans. With over 12 years of experience in mental health and substance abuse, Nicole integrates approaches like Motivational Interviewing (MI), Music Therapy (MT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She loves working with adults facing addiction, gambling issues, and co-occurring disorders. In her free time, Nicole enjoys dancing Cuban styles of dance.

She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a private practice where she provides therapy to individuals, families, and minors. Sydney specializes in a range of therapeutic approaches, including play therapy, to help children express themselves and navigate challenges in a supportive environment. Additionally, she works as an ABA therapist at a clinic specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder, where she supports children in developing essential skills. Outside of her professional life, Sydney enjoys spending time with her family, exploring new restaurants, and indulging in her love for scary movies.

MEGAN LOOS

Licensed Professional Counselor

Megan is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose main focus is working with adults looking to improve their mental health.  Megan majored in Psychology and Sociology and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, in 2010. In 2012, she received her first Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern State University and went on to receive her second Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Loyola University in 2015. Heidi is a Licensed Professional Counselor with deep roots in the Westbank of New Orleans. She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Holy Cross. With over eight years of experience, Heidi has developed a strong focus on substance abuse while also addressing a wide range of mental health concerns. She uses a variety of therapeutic techniques tailored to each client or couple, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Gestalt Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, and play therapy. Her integrative style effectively supports both the psychological and behavioral aspects of substance use and mental health issues. Heidi offers a compassionate, client-centered approach, always prioritizing the therapeutic relationship and ensuring clients feel safe and supported throughout their healing journey. Clinical Intern

Jennifer is an intern from the University of Holy Cross and is specializing in Clinical Mental Health.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of New Orleans. She continued her studies at Southeastern University to earn a Master of Education.  She has loved her career as a teacher, however she continued to feel a deeper connection to the mental wellbeing of her students and families. She looks forward to working at CORE and helping children, adolescents, adults and families. In her free time, she loves camping, hiking and traveling to new places. She loves spending time with her family and friends.

KIM MORRIS

Administrative Assistant 

Kim may not technically be a therapist, but she’s the one all the therapists turn to when they need to get their lives together. At CORE, Kim is the welcoming committee, appointment matchmaker, insurance wizard, and policy guru all rolled into one. She’s the first friendly face (or voice!) new clients meet, and she makes sure everyone gets matched with the right provider and knows exactly what to expect. Need info on services, programs, or paperwork? Kim’s your go-to. When she’s not busy running the place behind the scenes, you’ll find her recharging with her favorite people—family, friends, and probably a good group chat.

RAQUEL ROSALES

Spanish Counselor In Training

Raquel is a Spanish-speaking Counselor in Training (CIT) who works with individuals, couples, and families, providing counseling and psychoeducational services. Raquel holds a degree in Psychology from the National Autonomous University of Honduras and brings 21 years of experience as a psychology professor, showcasing her deep commitment to education. She is currently working towards becoming a certified addiction counselor and is under the clinical supervision of Nicole Goldin. At CORE, she leads Spanish-language psychoeducational programs, including court-mandated classes such as Domestic Violence Intervention, DWI education, and Substance Abuse Education. Raquel is passionate about empowering individuals through learning and has clinical experience working with children with special needs. In her spare time, she enjoys literature and expresses herself through contemporary poetry.

Chavone earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Jackson State University in 2022, where she found creative ways to serve the mental health community through her membership in many organizations. Currently, she is pursuing her Master of Counseling at Xavier University of Louisiana and is a member of the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Honor Society. Her professional background includes her role as a mental health technician, where she advocated for holistic well-being. Passionate about fostering growth, she integrates person-centered and strengths-based approaches in her work. In her free time, Chavone enjoys creating art, spending time with family, exploring new music, and traveling.

ANDREA WRIGHT

Andrea is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor who specialized in working with children and adolescents.  Andrea obtained her Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work and has over 8 years of experience providing mental health services to children, adults and families. During therapy, Andrea uses a variety of therapeutic modalities for each individual or family but has a primary background in cognitive behavioral, strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches, play therapy, and attachment-based interventions. Andrea supports individuals and families in meeting their goals by providing a safe and non-judgmental space to work together through trauma, PTSD, grief, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, gender identity, LGBTQ+ sexual orientation, and navigating life transitions.
