BROOKE BEMISS

Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor

Brooke is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor from New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and obtained her Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling from the University of Holy Cross. She is also currently working as a Registered Behavioral Therapist for children who are on the autism spectrum. In practice, Brooke uses a variety of modalities such as Person-Centered, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, as well as some play therapy techniques. She has experience in helping individuals with trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mental health-related issues. She has provided counseling services to a wide variety of clients, but her heart lies in working with children. In her free time, Brooke likes to spend time with friends, travel, try new foods, and attend concerts.

KRYSTYN BOURG

Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor

Krystyn is a provisional licensed professional counselor from Gretna, LA. Krystyn graduated from the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans with her Master of Arts in School Counseling. Much of her work has been focused around providing therapy services for children and adolescents. Krystyn’s passion for working with children flourished while working as a Registered Behavior Therapist for the past 4 years at a local center for children between the ages of 2-6 diagnosed with Autism and related disorders. She views counseling from a person-centered approach while utilizing techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to address each client’s unique goals. She has experience working with children, adolescents, teenagers and young adults. Krystyn has assisted clients in working through their anxiety, ADHD, ASD, anger management, behavioral issues and depression. In her free time Krystyn likes to watch Pelican’s basketball and relax at City Park.

MICHELLE CANEPA

Counseling Intern

Michelle is an intern from Upper Iowa University and is expected to receive a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in May of 2024. Michelle also achieved her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Upper Iowa University of New Orleans. In the future, Michelle intends to work with individuals, children and couples while navigating through the difficulties of life. When Michelle is not in classes or sessions, she likes to spend her free time with family and friends.

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Vanesa is a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker under clinical supervision. Vanesa obtained her master’s degree in social work from Tulane University School of Social Work and has over six years of experience providing mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults in Spanish and English. Vanesa has experience working with clients who have experienced trauma, grief, anxiety, and other mood disorders. Vanesa strives to provide a culturally appropriate safe space for the client to feel supported and empowered. Vanesa believes in the importance of having a balance between work and personal life and enjoys learning new alternative techniques for self-care.

MADELYNN FELLON

Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

Madelynn is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist whose primary specialty is in relationship counseling.  Madelynn completed her Master’s Degree in both Clinical Mental Health and Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Holy Cross. During therapy sessions, Madelynn utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) to assist clients to obtain their goals. She works hard to create a safe environment for anyone who is working towards alterations in their lives. Madelynn’s vast experience has made her become passionate about working with couples and individuals with various types of therapeutic needs such as marital issues, communication problems, infidelity, grief, depression, anxiety, and emotional regulation.

GLADYS FELLON

Therapy Dog

Gladys is a young Corgi who is being trained as a therapy dog by her mom, Madelynn. She works super hard to bring smiles to our client's faces and provides support for those having difficult conversations during counseling. Whether it's cuddling on your lap, licking your tears away, or just being a nut around the office, it's hard not to feel more comforted with Gladys around. Note: If you are not fond of dogs, we can make arrangements not to include Gladys in your session with Madelynn.

TRACY FEREZAN

Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor

Tracy is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor under the supervision of Portia Gordon and a licensed addiction counselor in TX, WA, and MN. Tracy has worked in Intensive Outpatient Programs since 2018 specializing in suicidal crisis and addiction & recovery. Tracy uses Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, interpersonal Therapy, and Solution Focused Brief Therapy to assist clients in reaching their personal goals. She has experience working with adolescents as young as 10, adults, and families. Tracy also has experience with trauma, depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. Tracy is an advocate, writer, and a researcher currently pursuing her PhD in Psychology.

NICOLE GOLDIN

Licensed Addiction Counselor

Nicole is a bilingual Licensed Addiction Counselor, Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor, and Board-Certified Music Therapist offering counseling and therapeutic services in both English and Spanish. Nicole completed a Master of Music Therapy degree, as well as a dual Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy and Psychology at Loyola University New Orleans, and has been working in the mental health and substance abuse field for over 9 years. She applies both traditional and non-traditional clinical approaches to treatment, including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Music Therapy (MT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).  As CORE's CEO, Nicole focuses on the administration of the group practice and also offers individual counseling, domestic violence intervention, and substance use assessments. Nicole enjoys working with adults who are struggling with all forms of addiction, substance misuse, gambling, and co-occurring disorders.

Counseling Intern

Sydney is an intern from Capella University studying Marriage and Family Therapy. She graduated from Loyola University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She currently works as an ABA therapist at a clinic for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as the Operations Manager at New Orleans Nightmare Haunted House. Sydney enjoys spending time with family, eating at different restaurants, and watching scary movies.

PHYLLIS JACKSON

MEGAN LOOS

Licensed Professional Counselor

Megan is a Licensed Professional Counselor whose main focus is working with adults looking to improve their mental health.  Megan majored in Psychology and Sociology and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, in 2010. In 2012, she received her first Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern State University and went on to receive her second Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Loyola University in 2015. Megan approaches counseling from a Narrative theory perspective, while also utilizing techniques from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Megan has experience with a wide range of clients and specializes in working with adolescents and adults who are involved in the criminal justice system,  as well as individuals wishing to work through anxiety, depression, anger management, ADD/ADHD, and addiction.

KIM MORRIS

Administrative Assistant

Kim is in charge of making all new clients feel welcome at CORE. Her main role is to schedule appointments and match new clients to their ideal provider. Kim's administrative duties include verifying insurance, providing intake documents, and orienting all CORE clients to our procedures and policies. Kim is the person you want to contact when needing information about our services, programs, and documentation. In Kim's free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

SARAH TEBBE

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Sarah Tebbe is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and New Orleanian who is passionate about the collective healing of her community. After graduating from Tulane University’s School of Social Work in 2018, Sarah has worked at a local nonprofit agency providing individual and group counseling and case management services. She approaches social work from a client-centered and strengths-based perspective and utilizes techniques such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), psychoeducation and solution-focused approaches to care. Sarah views therapy as a collaborative process centered around respect, advocacy and the hope for change and strives to help individuals to learn to understand themselves and the problems they face in order to seek healthy, safe and long-lasting solutions. She has experience working with a wide range of clients, with specific experience working with adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, formerly incarcerated individuals, as well as individuals who are interested in working through anxiety, depression, PTSD, anger management and relationship issues. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones.

Andrea is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor who specialized in working with children and adolescents.  Andrea obtained her Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work and has over 8 years of experience providing mental health services to children, adults and families. During therapy, Andrea uses a variety of therapeutic modalities for each individual or family but has a primary background in cognitive behavioral, strengths-based, and solution-focused approaches, play therapy, and attachment-based interventions. Andrea supports individuals and families in meeting their goals by providing a safe and non-judgmental space to work together through trauma, PTSD, grief, domestic violence, anxiety, depression, gender identity, LGBTQ+ sexual orientation, and navigating life transitions.
